The Mario’s Experience

| food event, Resto and More | October 23, 2008

We cannot describe how grateful we are when we are invited for a dinner in one of the great restaurant here in the Philippines. Mario’s Restaurant is located along Tomas Morato Ave. , Quezon City. From the look outside we can already feel how exclusive this place is and upon entering the place we noticed the cozy ambiance. For us it got the look and feel of modern restaurant but it has a sense of ethnic culture. It is later explained to us that the place is inspired by how they want to preserve the old look, and their eagerness to step the place up for the 21st century.

Feeling content and comfortable with what we are seeing the main event will come next.

Mario's Paella Valenciana

We ordered a plate of Paella Valenciana, a traditional Spanish one-pot dish of saffron-flavored rice combined with a variety of meats and shellfish. The burnt and crusty part is very delicious because its where most the flavor goes. We literally scrape the plate clean.

Marios Broil

We also ordered a Mario’s Broil, it is one of Mario’s exclusive recipes created by Fil’s father. It is a steak with peanut sate topped with some vegetables. The meat is cooked just right and the sauce is just as great, in fact i cannot describe it as it removes the boredom i felt eating meats over and over.

What impresses me is the amount of knowledge they have about their food. The ingredients they choose for their meals came from all over the world to meet the best quality for their recipe. To us that is a big deal because they cook and serve food for perfection rather than simply cooking and serving it to the guests and that’s what separate them from other restaurant we’ve been. To us their food is like an art in a plate, they choose the best paint and the best way to apply it.

Prices compared to the quality and taste of the food is worth it. The prices are just like any other restaurant but the attention they put in their menu is what makes them great. If I will be asked for a place for a dine, Mario’s Tomas Morato will be a good place to go. Mario’s serves buffet meals during Sunday for php535 per person, its a deal to catch.
